On the western face of the Alps in France, alpine and subalpine meadows blossom with naturally occurring order, structure and color.  Among these repetitions of color and structure are spires of blossoming yellow amongst hues of soft pinks and purples at their base.  Among these spires are Gentiana lutea and improved Verbascum.  Yellow Gentian has been used for millenia in this region as a digestive ailment, and as such the species has been overharvested in France and is now endangered.  This mix, utilizing Yellow Gentian and others, recreates these flowering meadows of alpine France with endemic species well suited to USDA Zones 4-8.  Other species not suited well to our region are replaced with others satisfying their designed intent, of flower bloom color, time, habit and structure.  A must for hillsides and medium-sized meadows.
